A visit to Aruba, where I managed to squeeze in a few mornings of birding. There are not a lot of species here, but I have my eye on a couple South American species that can be found here.

The month of May went by quickly. The birds hit in waves, and not every weekend was good, but we had some really good weekends. I was overjoyed to finally get a nice shot of a Canada Warbler. Spending some time birding with my niece was also a highlight of the month.

Migration is just kicking up here. I made an early grassland run to Kankakee Sands and then spent Sunday at Eagle Creek Park looking for migrants.

12/30/2025 I was sure I would make it out again before the end of the year. At the beginning of this month, we were gearing up for snow storms and colder weather. I planned to get out. The weather turned bitter, though, and then the snow turned to rain. The holidays moved in... time passed quickly.
